  41. I've seen quite a few messages similar to this one in the last week or 
  42. two.  People are looking for new sources of Lightwave Information.  There 
  43. are a couple of new video's which look nice or you can get the Stranahan 
  44. videos at $50 each, pick up a LW book, or read VTU & LW Pro.  Well now 
  45. there will be another alternative to this group.  I was going to wait on 
  46. posting the following information until early next month, but since there 
  47. have been so many messages requesting noe sources, now is as good of a 
  48. time as ever.  The following is an pre-release advertisement, so skip 
  49. this message if you want.

  52. I thought I would take a moment to announce a new LW publication that has 
  53. been in the works for a bit now.  I understand that there are now atleast 
  54. two or more other newsletter/magazine formats that will either be 
  55. complimenting or competing with LW PRO.  We decided that we did not want 
  56. to compete with anybody, thus adding to the pool of knowledge, so instead 
  57. we've come up with a new Lightwave publication each month that is 
  58. completely unique.  It's LIGHT SPEED : The video magazine for the 
  59. Lightwave Enthusiast.  Light Speed is a Lightwave magazine in VHS format. 
  60. Basically subscribers will get a new 90-120 minute video chalk full of LW 
  61. tutorials, reviews, animations, and more each and every month.  The cost 
  62. will be suprisingly low... lower in fact that ANY other LW video that I 
  63. have ever seen produced.  Just like any other magazine, you'll save by 
  64. ordering a subscription.  Subscription rates for a  full year (12 videos) 
  65. will be $96.  That is only $8 each tape under a subscription, there is no 
  66. reason why everybody can't enjoy Light Speed. Cover price will be $12.00 
  67. each if you decide to purchase them seperately..  We are able to offer 
  68. LIGHT SPEED at these great prices mainly due to  special agreements with 
  69. our video manufacturer and special adertising incentives.  Does this 
  70. cheap price mean you are getting a cheap product?  Not by any means.  You 
  71. will get turorials from talented people around the globe, many who 
  72. currently write articles for other LW newseletter/magazines.  Won't it be 
  73. nice to watch or follow along on a tutorial and get the exact results the 
  74. tutorial says you'll get?  How about seeing new software or hardware to 
  75. enhance Lightwave? Won't it be great to see those products in action  and 
  76. see what they REALLY do versus just reading a review about them.  Another 
  77. fantastic part of the video is the Animation Showcase where you get to 
  78. see what others are doing with Lightwave.  I think a lot of us learn new 
  79. techniques by picking apart other peoples work.  Well now you'll get to 
  80. see new anaimations each month by pro's and hobbiest's just like you and 
  81. I.  Hey, you can even send your animations or demo tapes in and have them 
  82. shown on a future issue of LIGHT SPEED.  But thats not all.  Nope, we 
  83. plan to provide atleast a full 90 minutes of good old lightwave tips, 
  84. tricks,  techniques, and more... each and every month.  You should be 
  85. able to pick these video's up at most  retailers that sell LW, atleast 
  86. you will be able to real soon (We are working on distributors right now), 
  87. but you can save some good pocket change and have a new issue of Light 
  88. Speed shipped to you every month (just like a regular magazine) by 
  89. subscribing. Again, a subsciption will get you each issue of Lightspeed 
  90. in vhs format at $8.00 each, and that INCLUDES shipping.  Look for our 
  91. full page ad in Video Toaster user, and Lightwave Pro beginning in the 
  92. August issue (Lw Pro's July Issue).  Internet users will have first crack 
  93. at Light Speed.  The shipping date for issue #1 of Light Speed is July 
  94. 1st, but we'll release it early to the internet sometime early June.  I  
  95. hope to see you all become subscribers of this great publication.  I'll 
  96. post order information  when the time comes.   I just thought I would let

  107. animation video which is also being worked on currently.  If however you 
  108. would like to try for both, that is fine.
